Me And Florence Nightingale

Ol' Flo ain't got nuthin' on me when it comes to nursing.

My wife's operation was this morning. We got to the hospital at 7:00 a.m. and returned home around 2:00. All went well, and the patient is resting comfortably (more or less).

My afternoon has been spent changing dressings, applying ointment, administering medications, providing ice chips and saltines, and just now serving dinner (homemade turkey broth, made last Thanksgiving by yours truly and keep in the back of the freezer for just such a situation).

With any luck the soup plus the latest round of meds will soon knock her out for the night. Then I can have a couple of adult beverages and get some rest myself.

I was born to nurse...

I wish your wife a speedy recovery. She'll be in my prayers.

My wife is recovering from breast cancer. She had surgery and radiotherapy a while back and is doing well.

God bless both of you!

I can't help but envision a more, um, pleasant scenario in which you would use the line, 'physicians prescribe, nurses provide...baby'.

LOL!!!

That could open the door to a whole series of double-entendre medical lines.

Open wide and say ahhhh.

You might feel a little prick.
