Mom Used Infant to Beat up Man in Daytona Beach

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after police in Florida say she used her infant son to batter her boyfriend.

Beach Safety Ocean Rescue Captain Tammy Marris tells local news outlets the 6-month-old boy was taken to a hospital Monday afternoon where he was reportedly doing OK.

Officers responded shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday to a beach in Daytona Beach. Marris says responders found Tatyana Allen had battered her boyfriend, also the baby's father, with the child.

Officers arrested Allen on charges of battery and infliction of physical/mental injury on a child. She was being held Monday night without bail.

Witnesses told beach investigators that they saw Allen walk up to her boyfriend, the baby's father, and punch him several times in the face.  Allen then grabbed her baby as a weapon and swung him "like a bat" at her boyfriend, the report states.

Allen dropped the baby facedown in the sand and the boyfriend picked up the baby, the report states.

The caller said Allen smacked the baby, which was covered in sand.

Witnesses said "Allen was extremely rough with the baby," investigating officers wrote in their report.

As Allen walked up the steps to the boardwalk, the baby's head also struck a railing, the report states.

Somehow I doubt if she'll ever be nominated for Mother of the Year.

The more I think about it, the more I think sterilization might be an apt punishment for people like this.

Her actions are bad enough. But the next story will sicken and disgust you.

Father and partner charged with allegedly abusing 10-month old girl

A father has been charged with sexually assaulting his baby daughter and offering her up to his boyfriend, who then gloated about it over Skype.

The two men, both aged 50, were arrested in Ivanhoe, Victoria (Australia) on Tuesday. They were extradited to Sydney on Wednesday night to face charges that Child Abuse police said were so horrific they were lost for words.

It's understood the men, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, are in a relationship and live together in Melbourne.

One of the men fathered the little girl, who was born in 2014 and now lives with her mother in a small town in central western NSW.

It's alleged the men travelled to the town on April 19, 2015 and looked after the baby girl for three hours while her mother was at a training course.

Unbeknownst to her, the men allegedly sexually abused the 10-month old baby over those three hours and allegedly took photos of her that they later uploaded to their computers.

There was a time when I would advocate for a long, lingering, and painful death for disgusting creatures like these. But as I've grown older I think it makes more sense to just calmly dispose of them in the most efficient way possible and move on. Either way, though, they deserve to die - soon.

Here are some warning signs of possible child abuse.

A child who's being abused may feel guilty, ashamed or confused. He or she may be afraid to tell anyone about the abuse, especially if the abuser is a parent, other relative or family friend. In fact, the child may have an apparent fear of parents, adult caregivers or family friends. That's why it's vital to watch for red flags, such as:

• Withdrawal from friends or usual activities
• Changes in behavior — such as aggression, anger, hostility or hyperactivity — or changes in school performance
• Depression, anxiety or unusual fears or a sudden loss of self-confidence
• An apparent lack of supervision
• Frequent absences from school or reluctance to ride the school bus
• Reluctance to leave school activities, as if he or she doesn't want to go home
• Attempts at running away
• Rebellious or defiant behavior
• Attempts at suicide

Specific signs and symptoms depend on the type of abuse and can vary. Keep in mind that warning signs are just that — warning signs. The presence of warning signs doesn't necessarily mean that a child is being abused.

Child abuse ends only when someone is concerned enough and courageous enough to speak out. Below are a couple of links to organizations that help victims of child abuse. I hope you never have cause to use them, but just in case...

Random Thoughts On The San Bernardino Shootings

On Wednesday in San Bernardino CA, 14 people were killed and 21 wounded by two heavily armed conservative Christian NRA members.

Oh, wait...

I'm sure many on the left were disappointed that the shooters were not members of the Tea Party. I'm also sure that they were chagrined to learn that the killers turned out to be muslims.

Factually accurate. No hyperbole or stereotyping. But it runs contrary to the politically correct view that the vast majority of muslims are peaceful, law abiding innocents. Take this tweet, for example, from CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) referring to the Post's headline.


Maybe if muslims would quit shooting people the rhetoric would stop.

Speaking of off-the-mark responses, by now you've probably heard the usual response of anti-gun nuts. One thing I've noticed this time around is an emphasis on the number of mass shootings in the past year or so. Setting aside questions about the data collection and analysis methodology, let's take a look at the other side of the coin.

Several mass shootings this year have brought renewed attention to the issue of gun violence in America, and President Obama has again called for Congress to change the nation’s gun laws.

But the increased spotlight on guns does not reflect the overall gun violence trend in the country. Although most Americans think the number of gun crimes has risen, the U.S. gun homicide rate has actually stabilized somewhat in recent years, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of death certificate data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Between 1993 and 2000, the gun homicide rate dropped by nearly half, from 7.0 homicides to 3.8 homicides per 100,000 people. Since then, the gun homicide rate has remained relatively flat. From 2010 to 2013, the most recent year data are available, the number of gun homicides has hovered between 11,000 and 12,000 per year.

The nation’s overall gun death rate has declined 30% since 1993. This total includes homicides and suicides, in addition to a smaller number of fatal police shootings, accidental shooting deaths and those of undetermined intent.

Something to think about. Of course, facts mean little to gun grabbers.

I Have A .45 ACP Solution

IMO Liam Neeson is a typical Hollywood hypocritical liberal. He is an anti-gun nut, while at the same time making his fortune portraying an action hero who uses firearms to deal with bad guys.

Actor Liam Neeson is no fan of the Second Amendment despite the content of many of his films.

In the past decade or so, Neeson has arguably rebooted his career by starring in movies, such as the Taken franchise, that prominently feature lots of gunplay and hand-to-hand combat. Despite his action hero screen persona (and meal ticket), he believes that the right of individuals to keep and bear arms under the U.S. Constitution is a “problem” and gun control is the solution.

His hypocrisy disgusts me, and I am boycotting his movies (not that it will make much difference, but at least it makes me feel better).

Anyway, the first movie in the Taken series, in which his daughter is kidnapped by a sex slavery ring, hits home with me. Our daughter is applying for a college study abroad program next summer in Spain. She's a smart kid who can for the most part take care of herself (she has a black belt in karate), but having grown up in a small town in Central Texas she has zero street smarts. To make matter worse, Spain - and Europe in general - is in the midst of a muslim-inspired rape epidemic.

Muslim men rape non-Muslim women (and girls) in disproportionately high numbers in countries with growing Muslim minority populations. Rape of infidel women is part of Islamic law and Islamic tradition. As such, it’s been going on for centuries.

This article is about the current threat Muslim rapists pose to non-Muslim women. In order to keep this article to a reasonable length, the focus is on the rape epidemic in Europe, but suffice it to say rape jihad is a gruesome reality the world over.

Perhaps there is no European country where rape has reached epidemic proportions as it has in Sweden, a country now known as the “rape capital” of Europe. Sweden ranks Number 2 on the global list of rape countries. From 1975 to present, rape in Sweden has increased 1472%. Based on this model, it is now projected that one in four Swedish women (and sometimes little girls) will be raped. Rape of men and boys is also on the rise.

Making this nightmarish situation worse, the authorities hide what’s going on, make outlandish excuses for it, and/or side with the rapists ... Few, if any, will state the truth: that the majority of rapes in Sweden are committed by Muslim males.

But Sweden is not the only European country where rape has become commonplace. Importing Muslims en masse has taken a toll across the continent. With the recent avalanche of young Muslim males sweeping across Europe, violence is rising even further. Including rape.

In the United Kingdom rape is occurring on such a massive scale that women no longer feel safe taking a taxi cab. Meanwhile, Muslim child sex trafficking gangs have become so pervasive it is estimated there may be as many as one million victims. One million! It has been referred to as rape on an “industrial scale.” And how has this massive attack against non-Muslim girls in the United Kingdom been addressed by the authorities? They’ve covered up the truth, often blaming the victims. Political leaders, the police, the courts, the media. You name it. They’re overflowing with cowards, leaving children to suffer the unthinkable horrors of kidnapping, torture, and rape.

In Holland, sex trafficking gangs run by Muslim men are also on the rise. In Germany, rape committed by “asylum seekers” is skyrocketing as rape by Muslim men is explained away as “cultural misunderstandings.” So to avoid such “misunderstandings” girls are told to cover up lest they draw attention to themselves and be raped.

In Austria, women are feeling the impact of this current avalanche of Muslim invaders, as when a 72-year-old woman was recently raped by a 17-year-old “asylum seeker.” In France, gang rape is on the rise. As with the rest of Europe, if the rapists are brought to trial they barely serve time for their heinous crime. In Spain, the situation is so dire that women don’t leave their house after dark for fear of being raped by Muslim men.

In Denmark, more than half of convicted rapists are Muslims. In Norway, there has been a dramatic spike in rapes. In Oslo, 10% of females over the age of 15 have been raped by Muslim men with Muslim men guilty of 100% of the rapes against Norwegian women. Rape in Oslo is now so common that hotels hand out key chain alarms when people check in and increasingly Norwegian women only go out in groups. As is the case throughout the West, anyone who speaks the truth about this is labeled a “racist.”

Meanwhile, in the face of this savagery, our political leaders, the media, academics, Muslims, feminists, and/or garden variety lemmings assert that Islam respects women, that it does not sanction the mistreatment of women, and/or that Western culture is a rape culture on par with ISIS. But no matter how persistently or how deeply these fools keep their increasingly vulnerable heads in the sand, it will not change reality. Quite the opposite. By denying the truth, these liars, apologists, and moral relativists fuel violence, rape, torture, enslavement, and death.

I hesitate to brand an entire group for the actions of a subset. But in this particular case I plead guilty to thinking 'muslim male = highly potential rapist.' And I also plead guilty to tarring most if not all muslims with the same brush. I don't see a wave of 'moderate' muslims decrying their cultural affinity towards rape, honor killings, female genital mutilation, murder of homosexuals, etc.

So I'll let our daughter traipse off to Spain, albeit with a shitload of fatherly warnings ("Beware the evil muslims"), most of which will go in one ear and out the other.

I only hope one or more of them will take root...

Joe Morrissey: A human train wreck that Virginia voters support — and deserve

The good voters of Virginia have spoken Thanks to them, the Virginia legislature begins its 2015 session Wednesday with a jailbird on the House floor.

Not just your routine run of the mill jailbird, but a child abuser

Fightin’ Joe Morrissey, a Democrat-turned-independent, won back his Henrico district seat Tuesday night, just as he had to report back to his jail cell.

Notice how he's not a democrat any more, but an 'independent.' Wanna guess which way he votes?

Morrissey, in case you haven’t been following his crazy saga, is the Virginia delegate who entered an Alford plea last month to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Investigators said the 57-year-old legislator was having sex with a 17-year-old receptionist at his law firm, had nude pictures of her on his phone and allegedly showed them to a pal of his. She’s now 18 and pregnant. A prosecutor said Morrissey is “perhaps” the father. The bachelor already has three other kids by three different women.

Class act.

In an Alford plea, a defendant doesn’t have to admit wrongdoing but does admit that there is enough evidence for a conviction. The court treats it as a guilty plea. Morrissey was sentenced to 12 months in jail with six months suspended. But he’s got a work-release arrangement that let him practice law and campaign by day and serve his time at night.

Probably a democrat judge. If his case came before me he'd get one helluva lot more than that. You can go here for the sickening details of the case, if you've got the stomach for it. Here's a snippet.

This guy getting elected not only makes a laughingstock of the voters in his district, but of the entire Virginia legislature.

The other Virginia delegates are now stuck. Some have pledged to find a way, at the start of business on Wednesday, to get rid of Morrissey.

And for good reason. This guy is a human train wreck. He’s faced disbarment, his law license has been suspended and revoked, he’s been in jail before for a courthouse fistfight, was charged in another fight, then capitalized on it with his “fighter” campaign, decorating ads and his office with boxing gloves.

When he was indicted in this sex scandal last summer, he said the charges were untrue...

"I did not tell a lie."

"I did not have sex with that woman."

"I did not have sex with that child."

Morrissey is also the bozo who brought an AK-47 to the floor of Virginia's General Assembly during a debate on gun control (need I say that he opposes the Second Amendment?).

On January 17 (2013), state Delegate Joe Morrissey (D – Henrico) brought an AK-47 assault-style rifle to the floor of the General Assembly to dramatize his push for a ban on assault weapons. But 20 years earlier, his lack of gun control made headlines when he lost an Uzi assault-style rifle and a high-capacity Tec-9 pistol.

He also has no clue when it comes to firearms safety.

“When he pulled the weapon out with the bolt closed and the magazine inserted and his thumb on the trigger, we were all a little shocked,” Delegate Todd Gilbert, (R -15th District) said. “So I asked the Speaker to instruct him to please take his thumb out of the trigger guard with a weapon no one was quite sure was unloaded.”

Some wondered if he could even be in possession of any kind of firearm, since he was previously charged with five felonies while serving as Richmond’s Commonwealth’s Attorney back in the early ‘90s, including bribery and  perjury. But he wasn’t convicted on those charges.

And some members recalled the headlines about Morrissey losing the Uzi and Tec-9, firearms that he had borrowed from the state forensics lab.

“Quite frankly I was a victim,” Del. Morrissey, (D) 7th District, told CBS-6 Wednesday when he was asked about the missing-weapons case. “... somebody actually stole them..."

Oh my aching back. This clown was a victim ... because he left the firearms in his car for extended periods of time. What a loon.

Newspaper reports at the time quoted sources saying Morrissey was known for leaving the weapons in a bag in his car and that they had disappeared months before they were reported missing.

Yeah, right...

Sadly, we get the government - and politicians - that we deserve.

Mom Has Sex in Car With High School Soccer Player

A 42-year-old suburban mother of three is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old soccer player.

The inappropriate relationship was uncovered when an Upper Pottsgrove Police officer allegedly found Iris Gibney and the teen naked, having sex inside a parked car.

As the officer approached the car, he saw Gibney performing a sex act on the teen...

The 17-year-old Pottsgrove High School student said he met Gibney at a high school football game earlier this year, police said. She had been volunteering as a "cheer mom" for the cheerleading team that her daughter is a part of.

Of course she does. Now lots of lonely men have new material for their MILF fantasies.

She was back at work Tuesday night and declined to comment when contacted at the retail store.

In other news, we have a local paper that serves our community. It's such a small paper that it publishes once a week, and doesn't even have an online version available. It's print or nothing.

One of its regular features is a Police Blotter that reports on calls to the local LEOs. Given that we're such a small and sleepy community, most of the calls are related to traffic accidents, false alarms, and the like. However, every once in a while we get a really interesting tidbit - like this one.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call, and found the described vehicle. The occupant ducked down when the officer shined her (!) flashlight his way.

The man was completely naked and covered with canola oil. He had an object stuffed up his rear end.

He was arrested and charged with public nudity and obscene behavior.

You can't make this stuff up...

Finally

One of the criticisms routinely leveled at Muslims is that the so-called moderates - the silent majority - are well and truly silent when it comes to speaking out in opposition to extremists who, in the words of some, pervert a legitimate religion through barbaric acts such as beheadings, stonings, honor killings, and the like.

I must admit that I tend to subscribe to that view. Taken as a whole, when it comes to savagery committed in the name of the Muslim religion the silence from members of that religion has been deafening.

However, there is at least one recent crack in that wall of silence.

Rotherham is a working-class town that is remarkable in its ordinariness — a collection of charmless discount stores, betting shops and kebab counters, surrounded by sleepy residential streets lined with brick houses that have seen better days.

But below the drab surface, shock was evident Wednesday as the people of this northern English town learned that for 16 years, girls as young as 11 in their community had been subjected to sexual exploitation on a vast scale.

The number of victims — 1,400 — was terrifying enough for a community of just 250,000. But that wasn’t all: despite repeated warnings over the years, only a handful of men have ever been convicted and an independent report found that local leaders had dismissed reports of child rape, exploitation and violence for years. Part of the reason, they said, was that they feared they would be branded as racist for pursuing the perpetrators — the majority of whom were men of Pakistani origin.

Ah yes, Political Correctness. I swear that someday it will be the ruin of us all.

Yet, many say it’s time for police and social workers to come up with a better response than to blame prickly race issues. Muhbeen Hussain, who founded the British Muslim Youth group, said the Pakistani community also needs to step up and face the problem.

“We need to acknowledge there was a large number of Pakistani men said to be involved. As a Pakistani Muslim I don’t find anything within our religion to condone this,” the 20-year-old said. “We need to reopen every case since the 1990s and investigate them. If it were any other type of crime the police would have acted” (emphasis added).

Hussain argues the reason the problem has gone on for so long isn’t about race, despite the authorities tiptoeing around the issue. What it is about, he argues, is a lack of accountability.

“Saying it’s about race is just an excuse for the failure of the local council. Are they not going to arrest a drug dealer because the Muslims may be upset? It’s ludicrous.”

Yes it is. Those who failed to act because of fears they might be branded as racists are just as guilty, and just as deserving of punishment, as the freaks who committed the acts.

Kudos to Mr. Hussain for telling it like it is. I'd be proud to buy him a beer ... if his religion will allow him to drink it.

Feel-Good Story Of The Day

Well, the feel-good part is the outcome. I just hope the victim here isn't too traumatized.

A Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding him sexually abusing his 11-year-old son early Friday morning, police said.

The father called 911 around 1 a.m. after he walked in on the alleged abuse, police said. When officers arrived, they found Raymond Frolander motionless on the living room floor. He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.

Child abuser gets what he deserves.

"He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you," the father told the 911 dispatcher. "I drug him out to the living room."

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1tZV6o9) reports that the father — who was not identified by police — told investigators he walked in as Frolander was abusing the boy.

When asked by the 911 dispatcher if any weapons were involved, the father said "my foot and my fist."

The father has not been charged with any crime.

At last. Some common sense in our criminal justice system.

"Dad was acting like a dad. I don't see anything we should charge the dad with," Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said. "You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times."

Frolander is charged with sexual battery on a child under 12. He is being held without bail. It was not immediately known whether he'd hired a lawyer.

According to the arrest affidavit, Frolander admitted the abuse.

That guy got off easy. If it had been my kid, well, I've got guns... and knives... and baseball bats...

The 25-year-old woman's companion was tied up and beaten, while she was raped repeatedly. Then the two of them were doused with buckets of sewage.

Remember these stories the next time some nitwit democrat accuses the republicans of waging a war on women.

What else would you expect from Ted Kennedy's home state?

A man who snapped secret pictures up women's skirts on a Boston subway train - a practice known as upskirting - did not violate the state's Peeping Tom law, Massachusetts' top court said on Wednesday, pointing to a loophole in current legislation.

The ruling comes in the case of a man who was arrested by transit police in 2010 for using his cell phone to take pictures and video up women's' skirts on the subway ... The law "does not apply to photographing persons who are fully clothed..."

I was reading our local newspaper today. Some days there's not much of note in the paper, other days story after story just leaves me shaking my head. Today was one of those days.

There were several stories that jumped out at me. What made these three so noteworthy is that they were all on the same page. After I finished reading them all I felt like taking a shower. Read on and you'll see why.

Sperm bank switch

The University of Utah has put together a panel of doctors and medical ethicists to find out how a convicted felon working at a fertility clinic two decades ago replaced a patient's sperm with his own and fathered a woman who is now 21.

The university has confirmed that Thomas Lippert, an employee of the private clinic that closed in 1998, is the biological father of the woman who now lives in San Antonio with her family. They don't know why or how his sperm samples got switched with the father's ... complicating matters is the fact that most of the records from the lab are gone and Lippert and the former clinic director have died.

The woman, Annie Branum, is now 21, and says the discovery has forced her to rethink who she is. Her family stumbled upon the discovery while using widely available DNA tests to trace their family roots online. The results showed Annie Branum's DNA didn't match her father's. The website led them to a second cousin who had also used the DNA testing. They tracked her down, and she turned out to be Lippert's cousin. She told the Branums that Lippert was a sperm donor who lived in Salt Lake City. A DNA test of Lippert's 99-year-old mother confirmed that she was the daughter's biological grandmother.

No one knows what might have motivated Lippert, who in 1975 took a plea bargain on kidnapping and other charges for subjecting a Purdue University female student to electroshock behavioral modification techniques in a so-called "love experiment."

The university hopes the in-depth investigation brings answers...

Can you imagine that poor families shock when they learned who the real father was? To make matters worse, there may be others in the same situation. The investigation has revealed that around 1000 people may have visited the clinic while Lippert worked there. So far 15 have called a special hotline the university set up to field inquiries from former patients. No word so far on whether or not Lippert fathered anyone else.

What a mess. But at least he had the 'decency' to screw up people's lives remotely. The next two were more FTF about it.

Court considers what child porn viewer owes victim

Supreme Court justices expressed compassion for a woman raped as a child as they struggled with how much money should be paid to her by one man convicted of possessing pornographic images of the abuse that have spread among thousands of online viewers.

The details of the case are confusing, but as near as I can figure out the defendant posted on the Internet pictures of an 8 year old child being raped by her uncle. The images were subsequently viewed by "thousands" of online perverts.

The law gives victims of child porn and certain other sexual crimes the right to collect restitution from people convicted of the crimes. The defendant was convicted of child pornography charges and found liable for $3.4 million to compensate the victim. His lawyers are arguing that the people who viewed the pictures should be found equally liable, and the judgment should be split among all those involved.

That raises an intriguing question. The victim deserves compensation. The defendant doesn't have the resources to pay $3.4M. The people who viewed the images, in addition to being sickos who deserve every punishment we can heap on them, certainly broke the law. They also created a demand for kiddie porn. Shouldn't they also be held responsible?

Of course, there's a host of practical issues to address. How do you identify everyone who saw the pictures? How can you collect from them? Some will undoubtedly be outside the U.S. jurisdiction. What is to be done about them?

Lots to think about...

Teenager accused of strangling man in sex act

A 16-year-old girl who police say strangled a man during an apparent sex act has been charged as an adult with second-degree murder, authorities said Wednesday.

Jason Ash, 43, was found dead Saturday evening in a Glendale apartment. According to court records, he was discovered lying on his back on a bed with an electrical cord around his neck and cuts to his face, arms and body.

The girl's mother told police she left her daughter alone in their apartment with Ash, whom she described as a boyfriend of the teenager.

WTF?!? What parent in their right mind allows their 16-year-old daughter to have a 43-year-old boyfriend? The mother should be in the cell next to her daughter.

The mother told police her daughter told her the couple was "playing sex games and he was cut on the arms and choked."

The girl told her mother they often used strangulation and cutting as part of their sexual activity and that "Jason did not say the 'safety word,' " police wrote in court papers.

Well, Jason is a perv, so he got what was coming to him. But blaming him because he didn't use the safety word is a bit much.

The girl said that "after she strangled Jason with an electrical cord, she began cutting him with a razor blade," according to police. "The first cut was an attempt to get a response from Jason since he appeared to have passed out ... She continued to cut on Jason in order to alleviate her stress from the situation."

Yeah, that's a good way to wake someone up - cut 'em with a razor. And when you get all stressed out because they don't wake up, cut 'em some more.

What a bunch of sick freaks...

You May Be A Radical Islamist

This blog ain't much, but at least it gives me an outlet for my ramblings, rantings, and ravings. It also spares my poor wife from having to listen to them. And while we may joke about the NSA monitoring us and the IRS targeting us, we really don't have to worry about the government taking action against us for what we post (I think...).

People in other parts of the world aren't as fortunate.

A judge in Saudi Arabia has recommended that imprisoned blogger Raif Badawi go before a high court on a charge of apostasy, which would carry the death penalty upon conviction...

Badawi's legal troubles started shortly after he started the Free Saudi Liberals website in 2008. He was detained for one day and questioned about the site. Some clerics even branded him an unbeliever and apostate.

In July, a Jeddah criminal court found Badawi, who has been in prison since June 2012, guilty of insulting Islam through his Free Saudi Liberals website and in television comments.

Badawi was sentenced to seven years in prison and 600 lashes...

First they imprison the guy. Then they gave him 600 lashes. Now he might be executed. All for 'insulting' islam.

I guess I won't be traveling to Saudi Arabia anytime soon.

Mad Dogs

I try to be a tolerant person (my wife would probably disagree, but what does she know?).

Anyway, my guiding principle is "You leave me alone, I'll leave you alone." A corollary to that is my belief that everyone has the right to go to Hell in his or her own way, as long as they don't take anyone else along with them. If you want to drink 32 ounce Big Gulps, more power to you. If you want to roll a giant spliff and toke your life away, I have no problem with that. Just don't ask me to pay for your food stamps when you get the munchies.

Where I draw the line, however, is when a person's actions inconvenience or endanger others. Which brings us to a group of zealots who believe that their religion allows them to run roughshod over everyone else on the face of the earth.

I speak, of course, of islamists.

Islamic law fuels polio resurgence

Once close to eradication worldwide, the dreaded disease polio is resurfacing in Muslim-majority countries where vaccinations are hard to come by due to war, religious edicts and ignorance, experts say.

The latest example comes this week in Syria, where a strain of polio originating in Pakistan has crippled more than a dozen children, according to doctors for the Kurdish Red Crescent. Cases have also been showing up in Somalia, Afghanistan and Nigeria.

What do all those countries have in common? They are contaminated by islamic extremists who intimidate, kidnap, and even kill volunteer medical workers whose only desire is to eradicate a debilitating disease.

Polio is a highly contagious disease caused by a virus in the throat and intestinal tract that can cause paralysis, crippling and even death. It was once the leading cause of disability in the United States and infected millions of people worldwide until the introduction of the polio vaccine in the 1950s.

The disease was eradicated in the United States. Worldwide, there were fewer than a thousand cases and it was headed for total eradication until recently, according to the World Health Organization.

However, ignorant islamics who want to keep people subjugated and chained to the Middle Ages have decided that eliminating polio is a Western plot.

A cleric in Pakistan's Punjab province warned that a jihad would be launched against polio vaccination teams, whose mission he labeled a Western conspiracy, frightening away a team that arrived in Muzaffargarh, according to The Express Tribune.

This week, militants in northwestern Pakistan kidnapped 11 teachers involved in a polio vaccination campaign. Local official Khyali Gul said the teachers were taken from a school in the Bara area, close to Pakistan's northwestern border with Afghanistan.

The United Nations in Pakistan pulled its staff involved in immunization from Pakistan after three eradication workers were shot in Peshawar and two of them were killed, in 2012. Since then, more vaccine teams have been targeted.

Killing people who only want to help others live a better life. What an ignorant, intolerant, barbaric 'religion.'

I remember when I was a small child. Polio was still very much in existence in the U.S. We had to get annual vaccinations. People who contracted polio often spent months, years, or even lifetimes in an iron lung.

At one time it was thought that the polio virus could be caught from swimming in public pools. My mother forbid us from swimming in the summer, when the pool was crowded. But she let us swim during the other seasons, when the water would turn our lips and fingers blue. And for some reason swimming in muddy creeks and lakes was perfectly okay. My mother wasn't the most logical of people.

But she was light-years ahead of these fools.

Muslims Get Special Treatment At Public Pool

One of the widely recognized tenets of Islam is a notion of modesty among women in the faith. Muslim females are commonly garbed in head scarves and full body coverings meant to prevent men from seeing too much of their flesh.

Naturally, water sports in particular present a problem for practitioners of the religion, which has been resolved in many communities by prohibiting women from swimming in front of men. When two Muslim women in Tuckwilla, Wash. realized the city’s public pool did not cater to them at the exclusion of everyone else, they complained.

Instead of explaining that the pool is a resource for the community as a whole, management decided to offer female-only swimming hours...

While Christians complaining of unfair treatment under the law are generally disregarded, these two women were successful in achieving a 90-minute standing reservation each Sunday at the city pool.

It is telling that the radical left insists on removing faith out of virtually any policy decision – with the notable exception of Islam.

I wonder what would happen if I showed up at that pool and claimed my religion insisted that all swimmers must be nude. I'm sure they'd set aside a '90-minute standing reservation' for me and my flock of unclothed bathing beauties.

Yeah, right...

And They Say The Republicans Declare War On Women?

A study was recently published documenting the fatwas, or islamic decrees, issued by the Muslim Brotherhood during their year in power in Egypt after overthrowing Hosni Mubarak. An examination of those fatwas reveals that those people have a very strange view of women and marriage. I'll go one step further and say that they have a primitive, uncivilized perspective that considers women as chattel or property, whose role in life is to be subjugated and used by men.

The study revealed that some of these fatwas decreed that women who swim in the sea are committing "adultery" -- even if they wear a hijab: "The reason behind this particular fatwa, from their point of view, is that the sea is masculine [as with many other languages, Arabic nouns are gender specific, and "sea" is masculine], and when the water touches the woman's private parts she becomes an 'adulteress' and should be punished."

Moreover, "Some of these fatwas also forbade women from eating certain vegetables or even touching cucumbers or bananas," due to their phallic imagery, which may tempt women to deviate.

Other fatwas decreed that "it is unacceptable for women to turn the air conditioning on at home during the absence of their husbands as this could be used as a sign to indicate to neighbors that the woman is at home alone and any of them could commit adultery with her."

One fatwa suggested that marriage to ten-year-old girls should be allowed to prevent girls "from deviating from the right path," while another prohibited girls from going to schools located 25 kilometers away from their homes.

Another stated that a marriage is annulled if the husband and wife copulate with no clothes on.

These fatwas also sanctioned the use of women and children as human shields in violent demonstrations and protests, as these are considered jihads to empower Islam.

Even slavery was permitted, according to the study: "the people who issued these fatwas demanded the enactment of a law allowing divorced women to own slaves," presumably to help her, as she no longer has a man to support her.

Read that next-to-last paragraph again. What sort of religion validates the use of women and children as human shields to protect the 'men' cowering behind them? What sort of 'men' would behave in such a cowardly manner?

The answer to both questions is the Muslim Brotherhood.

Today's bit of good news:

In a sickening video posted on YouTube, soldiers from the Syrian-based group Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) were seen holding up the decapitated head of a soldier they believed was a supporter of President Bashar al-Assad.

But, after the footage was made public, the victim was recognised by an extremist as a fellow rebel fighter who had been wounded during a battle.

After an investigation the soldier was identified as Mohammed Fares, a commander of Ahrar al-Sham, a group who fight alongside the ISIS.

What's Arabic for "My bad..."?

The militant group tried to explain their error by referring to a story in which the prophet Mohammed said Allah would forgive a man who killed a believer by mistake.

Oh, well, if Allah says it's okay then it's not a problem ... except perhaps for the unfotunate Mr. Fares.

When The Law Of The Land Isn't The Law Of The Land

Yesterday Ted Cruz launched his filibuster against obamacare. For a variety of reasons, most having to do with the arcane rules of the senate, Cruz was doomed to fail. However, that doesn't mean he was wrong. For all the blather from obamacare supporters that it's 'the law of the land,' it's a badly flawed law that has even its supporters and the people who voted for it clamoring to be exempted from it.

That doesn't sound like something that should be 'the law of the land' to me.

First, the pragmatic arguments against obamacare:

The doctors are leaving in droves because of Obamacare. The IRS doesn’t want Obamacare for its employees even though that agency will administer it, Congress just got an exemption from Obamacare from the president, hundreds of politically connected companies and unions have gotten exemptions, the Teamsters have warned that Obamacare threatens the middle class, the law is so complex that an army of “navigators” must be hired to sign people up, and the Democratic Senator Max Baucus, who is the outgoing head of the Finance Committee referred to the effort to administer the law as a potential “train wreck.”

Now the moral arguments against it:

James Madison, in Federalist Paper #57, said, "(Congress) can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society." This was intended to protect the American people from the emergence of an authoritative ruling class.

Fast forward to today.

Under pressure from Congress, the White House has carved out a special exemption for Congress and its staffers from ObamaCare—the law it recently deemed necessary for the entire country. No Republicans voted for ObamaCare. Yet it appears that some of them support the exemption President Obama approved on his own—so they would not have to go on record with a vote for or against it.

This is the height of hypocrisy, and worse, a trampling of the Founders' code of equal application of the law. Having forced a health law on the American people, the White House and Democrats now seek to insulate themselves from the noxious portions of the law, and from the implementation struggles, indecision and uncertainty that many other Americans face today.

Congress's health care premiums will not rise, but ours will.

Congress can keep their health plan, but more and more of us are losing ours.

Congress can keep their doctors, but we may have to find new ones.

Sounds like an authoritarian ruling class to me.

A few congresscritters (Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Senators David Vitter (R-LA) and Mike Enzi (R-WY)) -- whether out of moral outrage, political considerations, or a guilty conscious -- have introduced legislation to end Congress' special exemption from obamacare. Their reward?

In response, several Democratic senators have reacted by drafting legislation that would punish anyone who votes for Sen. Vitter's plan by permanently blocking an exemption from them and their staff, even if Mr. Vitter's law doesn't pass. It doesn't get more vindictive and petty than that.

Here's the backstory:

All this began when Congress passed the Affordable Care Act in 2010. It compelled Congress and its staff to participate in ObamaCare and its insurance exchanges like other Americans who don't have employer-provided plans. But in their haste and confusion over legislation so long that few even read it all, some members of Congress voted for the law without realizing that the final bill had no mention of the very generous premium contributions the government makes to federal employees as part of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

Imagine the horror when these elected officials, who make $174,000 a year, realized that not only must they and their staffers be subject to inferior-quality health exchanges like the millions of ordinary Americans, but they might also have to shell out thousands of dollars for increased premiums if they exceed the subsidy income cutoff.

The White House, under heat from Congress, directed the Office of Personnel Management to carve out special rules so that the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program can continue to contribute to the health plans used by Congress and congressional staff.

Congress complains that without its special subsidies the Hill will suffer a "brain drain" as staffers leave their jobs because of increasing out-of-pocket insurance costs. Heaven forbid Congress suffer the same fate as private companies like UPS, which recently had to cut health-care benefits entirely for employees' spouses; or labor unions, like the 40,000 International Longshore and Warehouse Union workers who recently left the AFL-CIO citing as one factor ObamaCare's tax on their "Cadillac" health-care plans.

Bottom line: If Obamacare is so good why were members of Congress which wrote the legislation so desperate to get out of it?

Because they can.

And we can't...

Connecting The Dots

Thoughts that came to mind while reading about the terrorist attack on the mall in Kenya:

• Minnesota is home to the largest Somali community in the United States, numbering at least 32,000...

• Minnesota’s large Somali community has been a fruitful source of new recruits to Somalia’s al Shabab terrorist group...

• Al Shabab is responsible for the ongoing terrorist attack on the shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya...

• ...CNN is reporting that two of the terrorists are from Minnesota...

• Mall of America is located in Bloomington, Minnesota - just a short drive from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. It has over 520 stores, employs 12,000+ people, and attracts 40 million visitors annually.

• It is also what terrorism experts refer to as a "soft target."

A ‘Soft’ target is one which has little or no military protection or security and hence is an easy option for a terrorist attack. This includes commercial shopping centres, power stations, and leisure facilities such as football grounds and sports stadiums.

You can see where I'm going with this. A community full of potential muslim terrorist recruits. A soft target with the added plus of an irresistibly symbolic name: Mall of America. And a gun free zone to boot.

How long before a Kenya-style attack takes place here in the states? And will the reaction be to rally against the savages that perpetrate such cowardly acts, or will it result in even more appeasement of a bunch of uncivilized pedophile-worshiping scum? Will the people of this country finally wake up and realize that we must take responsibility for our own self-defense, or will they crawl cringing to their political masters and beg for more police, more spying on citizens, and more gun control?

I'm afraid I know the answer...

Boston Marathon Bombings

Just watched obama's statement re: the Boston Marathon bombing. Two observations:

1. He seemed very wooden, stiff, and insincere.

2. He studiously avoided the use of the words "terror" or "terrorism."

Let's recap. Multiple bombs. Ball bearings used as shrapnel. Saudi national suspect in custody. But it's not terrorism. Must be another "man-made disaster" - or possibly "workplace violence."

What an asshole...
