The Winter Olympics have begun!
"The Olympics start Friday and Russia's implementing the most intensive security in Olympics history. The government will monitor every email. They will monitor every social media message and they will listen in on every phone call. In fact, people are now comparing Russia to the United States." –Jay Leno
The Olympics have started! It was exciting to see the opening ceremony – there were 77 nations in all that came walking through. The line was so big it was as long as the line at the Department of Motor Vehicles!
Did you see the Swedish team? That's something you don't see in Los Angles – natural blondes!
I think the strangest event is the biathlon, which involves skiing and guns. How do you practice that? Do you go skiing during a weekday when there's no one around?
There was a surprise in curling today – people watched! The audience was mostly women, though. They like to see men pushing brooms.
Q: How do you stop the bacon from curling in the pan?
A: Take away their little brooms.
Okay, I've taken a couple of cheap shots at curling. To make up for that, here's a picture of the captain of the Russian Olympic curling team.
Yes, that's really her. Her name is Anna Sidorova. Talk about "From Russia, With Love..."
Shot Down.
