Sunday Funnies 2013.10.06

We'll start today with a few classics (Yay!), and then segue into politics (Boo!).

How many are worried about a government shutdown? How many are more worried about it starting back up? -- Jay Leno

I'm glad the government has shut down. Think about it, for the first time in years it's safe to talk on the phone and send emails without anybody listening in. -- Jay Leno

Jimmy Fallon said that there were reports that some members of Congress were caught drinking while they were debating the bill that could have avoided the government shutdown. "See, Congress is just like most Americans; they need to get drunk before they screw people."

Jimmy Kimmel said: “I want the names of the idiots who elected these people. Oh, wait — it was us? Never mind.”

One of my own: obama promised to shut down Guantanamo Bay. Instead, he shut down the federal government. (I think we came out ahead on this one.)

Shutdown pick-up lines:
"Ted Cruz isn't the only one who can go for 21 hours."

"The Lincoln Bedroom is shut down, but mine is open."

And from Doug Ross, a bittersweet comment:

"...without non-essential workers, who would barricade the open-air World War II Memorial from veterans?"

I wish those WWII vets were physically able to stand up and storm the damn barricades...
