Regardless of the outcome of the first democrat debate last night, I am scared.
Yes, hillary's poll numbers are dropping faster than my bank account. But that's because she is a detestable old hag with more baggage than my wife on vacation. It is not a repudiation of her policies.
In fact, a major reason for Bernie Sander's rise in the polls is that his socialist agenda is resonating with a large number of Americans. That's what I find scary.
We are transitioning from a nation of people who believed in being independent and self-sufficient, in earning what you get, in taking responsibility for their actions, and in personal liberty trumping government paternalism.
Today, however, many believe that the government should take care of them (subsidized housing, subsidized health care, food stamps, overly-generous unemployment benefits, obamaphones, etc.). At the same time, they demonize those who make enough money to pay for their handouts (the evil rich, income inequality is bad, the rich don't pay their fair share, etc.)
Couple that with the fact that the republican candidates are either unelectable outsiders or establishment puppets, and I worry that the democrats will win the presidency again.
And that's a scary thought.
Shot Down.

Saw a bran-new (2016) Mercedes SUV ($80,000) in my local supermarket today with a "Bernie 2016" bumper sticker on the back.
The driver/owner wasn't around or I would have asked him/her:
"Socialism means everyone's equal as far as income, material possessions, etc. Does that mean the millions of welfare recipients will get a SUV like yours and your taxes will pay for them or your precious Mercedes will be confiscated and you'll have to drive a 1993 Toyota Corolla like most of those million of welfare recipients currently do?"
I hate the rich, Liberal unicorn riders more than Muslim terrorists!
I think Bernie wants everyone to drive a Yugo...
Bernie wants everybody riding a bicycle or the bus. Global warming, carbon footprint save the unicorns as near as I can tell.
Scary is right... And it's not even halloween!
