Thanksgiving Recap

They came.

They ate.

They left.

In between we had a great time catching up with family and friends.

Despite a few glitches, all went well. For some unexplained reason, the oven started smoking. We have a double oven (electric). The turkey was in the larger upper oven, while the bottom one was reserved for the side dishes. Once the upper oven started smoking we turned it off and finished the bird in the outdoor grill. Temperature control was challenging and the timing was thrown off, but in the end no one went away hungry (or thirsty!).

I spent half a day earlier this week chopping and splitting firewood. The temperature then was hovering around 50. Today, when I was planning on having a nice cozy fire in the house, the temperature - and the humidity - was near 80.

No worries, however. The forecast for Saturday is a high in the low 40s.

No glitches here, unless you count the constant rain that kept everyone in the house. Then everyone left early thinking the rain would turn to ice.

BB - the rain has made it down here. No ice, but it's close.

Randy - we had the AC on as well.
