Great Minds Think Alike

Earlier today I commented on the disparate treatment by the mainstream media of assorted presidential candidates. It turns out that Harper was thinking along the same lines. She notes the reaction of various media outlets to Perry and Bachmann eating corn dogs at the Iowa State Fair.
...apparently, the best response the left can come up with to a day's worth of campaign talking points is to publish photos of Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry eating corn dogs.

Posting the photos wasn't enough, they had to get all trashy with the captions and headlines...

As many of the comments point out, a similar photo or caption of Barney Frank would be met with outrage. Why the double standard?
Why indeed?

As if that's not enough, we have obama scolding Rick Perry for "threatening" Ben Bernake, head of the Federal Reserve.
The White House denounced Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry on Tuesday for his threatening remarks toward the head of the U.S. Federal Reserve that represented some of the most inflammatory rhetoric of the 2012 election campaign.
What did Perry say that could be considered "the most inflammatory rhetoric?"
"Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous, treasonous in my opinion," he (Perry) said.
I don't find anything threatening in that statement. And compared to the vitriol spewing from the left, I certainly don't consider it highly inflammatory. If it's inflammatory you want, try a few of these on for size.
Vice President Joe Biden called the Tea Party ‘terrorists.”

Over at the New York Times, Joe Nocera claims that the Tea Party is waging a “war on America.”
Thomas Friedman called the Tea Party the “Hezbollah faction” of the GOP.

Maureen Dowd has a glowing review of Democrats who declare the Tea Party to be “the Republican Taliban wing.”

Politico ran an op-ed by Martin Frost titled “The Tea Party Taliban.” They also ran a piece by William Yeomans titled “The Tea Party’s Terrorist Tactics.”

Margaret Carlson claims the Tea Party is a “nihilist caucus” who have strapped explosives on the Capitol.
Here's a thought exercise. Substitute "obama" or "democratic party" for "Tea Party" in the above quotes and trot them out in front of a liberal. Then just sit back and wait for the explosion.

Here's another thought exercise. Tell me how many people have been killed by Tea Party suicide bombers or airplane hijackers.

I don't know why we are surprised, or outraged. The Dims have been sugar-coating or conveniently ignoring everything the Kennedy's do since JFK boned Monroe and Teddy killed a girl.
