When Williams tried to hector Romney and paint him exactly the way the Democrats would want, asking him if he was looking to choose “an incredibly boring white guy” as VP, he was in for a surprise. For a guy who has a reputation as a boring robot, Romney showed a facile, sharp sense of humor, swiftly eviscerating Williams: “You told me you were not available.”(H/T Breitbart)

Romney also gave the Brits a gift in that interview. Sure the London media reacted in typical horor to the idea that something might go wrong at their Games, but he did give them a gift. It was like the moment the little boy pointed out that the king wasn't wearing any clothes, just an honest observation. The reaction at 'court' was shock and dismay at what the boy said, but then the kid had only said what everyone else was thinking and were too afraid to say themselves.
It really is time to 'reinvent' the Modern Olympic Games, especially the venue and graft 'rules'. (While we're at it let's closed down the UN and all it's agencies too;-)
Romney did take over a troubled Olympics in Utah and turn it into a success. That should give him enough credibility so that when he speaks, people should listen.
I think the problem is the same one that underlies recent posts here about the gun control issue. One side uses logic and evidence, while the other side can't get past their emotions.
