He carried his paddle in his back pocket and used it often. I can't tell you how many times his ex-students came by our house through the years to visit or when they needed help. They told stories of how my dad used that paddle on them. They had lots of love and respect for my dad. And my dad loved them.<br /><br />One of the best stories was when several of his high school students skipped school. He went looking for them and eventually found them in a nearby town in the local bar/pool hall. They said Dad walked in without saying a word. Picked up a cue stick and promptly ran the table. He put the stick down and said, "I'll see you boys in school on Monday." Back ...Your scenario 2 beought back old memeories. Back in 1950, a high school classmate ad I got into a fist fight in the alley behind the town's lumber yard. After a couple of minutes of doing little to no damage to each other, we called it off. That guy and I were fast friends from there on, until he went into the Marines and I to the Navy.
